Why Naturopathy

Naturopathy is utilised in conjunction with or as an alternative to traditional western medicine for holistic healing. The ultimate objective of this natural approach is to ensure great wellbeing by safely treating any underlying health issues in the body.

By boosting the body's natural healing processes, naturopathy aims to treat underlying illnesses and return the body to normal function.

It is distinct from traditional therapies in that it places a strong focus on individualised evaluations of lifestyle, diet, and genetic makeup to determine the underlying cause of a disease or illness. In addition to working well in conjunction with medical therapies to provide an integrated approach to care that minimises harsh chemicals and emphasises self-care, Naturopathy can be used alone as a preventative step against a wide range of disorders or illnesses. In addition to providing education to clients, Naturopaths aim to empower their patients by encouraging self-sufficiency in making healthful decisions.

Furthermore, to encouraging preventative steps that can boost immunity and enhance mental health for a body functioning in balance, this approach supports the individual's natural healing process.

The following services provided by Naturopaths have several advantages for those wishing to enhance their wellness and general health:

Natural Remedies: Vitamins, minerals, and herbal medicine are examples of natural remedies used in naturopathy. These remedies, which come from natural sources, have a great chance of success without unsettling side effects.

Personalised Care: Services provided by naturopathy emphasise personalised care that takes into consideration each patient's particular needs. This strategy makes sure that the treatment plan is personalised for each patient and is more successful in fostering healing.

Address the Root Cause – In contrast to conventional care, Naturopathy focuses on identifying the underlying cause of health issues rather than just treating their symptoms.

The Principles of Naturopathy

The following naturopathic principles form the foundation of naturopathy, which utilizes a range of therapies and diagnostic techniques.

1. Do no harm

In order to prevent negative side effects, naturopaths select safe and effective natural treatments and remedies.

2. The healing power of nature

With the correct circumstances and care, the body is capable of healing itself. Our cells and our entire existence are energised by nature!

3. Identify and treat the cause

Instead of treating (suppressing) symptoms, find the underlying cause of the illness.

4. Naturopath as Teacher (Docere)

Naturopaths study a great deal about health and disease, and one of our key objectives is to share this information with our patients so they may take charge of their own health & well-being.

5. Treat the whole person

Acknowledge the individuality of each patient by considering their particular physical, mental, genetic, social, and environmental circumstances.

6. Education - Prevention is better than treatment

In Naturopathy, it is preferable to prevent illness and pain whenever possible. Naturopaths use all six principles in their complete practice to help and teach patients to become well and stay well by identifying possible imbalances. In this manner, patients are able to accept personal accountability.

Naturopathy is not a regulated profession in the province of Quebec (unlike most other provinces). As such, naturopaths are limited in the level of care they can offer the public. Naturopathic plans include lifestyle and supplement suggestions. These are not to be construed as a prescription and are not meant to replace any current or future conventional medical care. Under no circumstances is a naturopath trying to impersonate a medical doctor.
